Ray LaMontagne was excellent

While traffic patterns outside the Civic weren’t ideal, parking still wasn’t too bad. Inside, this venue was perfect for singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne—intimate, mellow and sound was great. My only issue, and this is nitpicking...the ushers don’t need to shine their bright LED lights everywhere when lights are down and performers are performing. For example, a particular usher would flash his light down on the steps, then at each ascending/descending row (as if he can’t figure out the alphabetical order,) then back at the patron’s already illuminated cell phone to ask again what row/seat, then finally get to the row and flash the light down it to the specific seat in front of already seated guests right in their faces/eyes. It didn’t happen to us since there was no one in the entire row in front of us, but you could hear the grumblings of those affected when the usher finally walked away. And this only happened a handful of times after the show began, but it’s actually quite distracting for everyone in the vicinity. Otherwise, they do a good job being of assistance and helping get people to their seats.
